Unyielding Faith: Shining a Light on Global Christian Persecution

Friends,

We often take our freedoms for granted here, but it’s crucial we never forget our brothers and sisters around the world who face unimaginable hardship simply for their devotion to Christ. A significant event is approaching that aims to bring these silent cries to the forefront.

Maureen Ferguson, a U.S. Commissioner on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF), will be speaking at the CPAC Christian Persecution Summit. Her work focuses on the severe challenges facing Christians globally, bringing a much-needed voice to those who are silenced.

Here’s what we need to understand about the struggles our fellow believers are facing:

  • Who: Devoted Christians across the globe, unwavering in their faith in Jesus Christ.
  • Where: Nations like Cuba, Nigeria, Nicaragua, and other regions under oppressive, authoritarian rule.
  • What happened: Subjected to systematic persecution, including church closures, wrongful imprisonments, violent assaults, state surveillance, and the weaponization of laws to suppress worship and erase their spiritual heritage.

As members of the Body of Christ, we are called to bear one another’s burdens. When our brothers and sisters in faith suffer for their belief in Jesus, it is incumbent upon us to speak out, pray earnestly, and support those who advocate on their behalf. Their unwavering commitment to Christ amidst such severe trials is a powerful testament to His truth and a challenge for us to live out our faith with similar courage. We cannot remain silent while our family in Christ endures such tribulation.

Prayer Point:
Please pray for Commissioner Maureen Ferguson and all advocates working to expose and combat Christian persecution. Pray for wisdom, courage, and effectiveness in their efforts. Most importantly, pray for divine protection, unwavering strength, and steadfast hope for all persecuted believers in Cuba, Nigeria, Nicaragua, and wherever they are suffering for the name of Jesus.
