Hello Valued Clients,
Jason here from Christ IT Services, bringing you an important warning based on a recent local news story. Our goal is always to help protect you, whether it’s your computers or your finances.
### Alert: Protect Your Finances From Deceitful Requests
A recent federal court case in San Antonio highlighted a serious threat: a local scammer befriended an elderly couple and tricked them into lending over $1.25 million. She claimed to be waiting for FEMA funds due to flood damage and needed money for various fees, promising to pay them back, but instead spent their lifetime savings at casinos.
When someone, even an acquaintance or new online connection, asks you for money with an urgent or complicated story involving future payouts, be extremely cautious. Always verify claims through official, trusted channels, and never feel pressured into quick financial decisions. Before making any significant financial choices, especially based on requests received via email or social media, consult with a trusted family member, friend, or financial advisor.
If you are unsure if your system is safe, or if you clicked something you shouldn’t have, give Christ IT a call immediately. We can help.
Stay safe out there,
Jason
