Alert: Don’t Be Fooled By Fake Payment Requests!

Hello everyone,

Jason here from Christ IT Services. I wanted to share an important warning about a scam making the rounds that targets individuals and businesses, including our churches, seniors, and small business clients.

The Threat:
Scammers are sending fake emails and messages that look like official bills from your local government or other trusted organizations. These scams often demand urgent payments for permits, applications, or services, asking you to send money by unusual methods like wire transfer.

The Fix:
If you receive an unexpected request for payment, especially one asking for a wire transfer, stop immediately. Do not respond to the message or send any money. Instead, find the official phone number or website for the organization independently (by searching online or checking a known bill) and contact them directly to verify if the request is real.

A Friendly Reminder:
If you are unsure if your system is safe, or if you clicked something you shouldn’t have, give Christ IT a call immediately. We can help.

Stay safe out there,
Jason
