Youth from TEAMeffort join Haywood County churches to provide home repairs and community support this summer

Young people from across the country are gathering in Haywood County this summer as part of TEAMeffort, a Christian mission organization dedicated to serving local communities through hands-on outreach. The initiative brings together middle and high school students aged 12 to 18, who are trained in carpentry and team-building skills to address pressing needs in the area. Over the course of nine weeks, church groups will stay for a week each, focusing on practical projects that support families in need.
Last year, TEAMeffort played a vital role in the recovery efforts following Hurricane Helene, which devastated parts of Haywood County. Students worked tirelessly to repair mobile homes, rebuild ramps and stairs, and reinforce foundations, helping to restore dignity and stability to affected families.
