First Irpinian Church JB Seeks Support to Restore Damage from Ballistic Missile Attack
The First Irpian Church of Evangelical Baptist Christians has suffered new damage from a Russian ballistic missile attack on October 19. The explosion, which occurred around 7:00 a.m. near the church building, damaged four windows and a section of the roof. This marks another challenge for the congregation, which has endured previous attacks and continues its mission despite the hardships.
The church has a long history of serving the community, having united the faithful around gospel sermons, prayers, and practical help for over six decades. Even during the full-scale war, the church has maintained its ministry, offering child camps, youth programs, support for Ukrainian military personnel, and other initiatives that address both spiritual and social needs.
For many in the city, the church remains a vital place of communication, support, and spiritual growth. The recent damage creates additional difficulties in organizing ministry activities, especially as the cold season has begun. The building’s condition is critical for continuing church meetings and services safely.
In response to the damage, the community has launched a fundraising effort to restore the prayer house. The first priority is repairing the windows and roof sections to ensure the building remains functional. Church representatives are calling on concerned Christians and others to support the restoration through financial contributions, prayer, or the sharing of information about the congregation’s needs.
The community expresses gratitude for any form of support, whether through financial aid, prayer, or spreading awareness of their situation. They emphasize the importance of restoring the building as a step toward continuing their ministry and serving the local community.
