A 6-year-old girl alleges sexual assault by another student at Florida Christian school, prompting parents to sue over alleged failure to protect child
A 6-year-old girl at a prestigious Florida Christian school reported being sexually assaulted by another student over a two-year period, according to a lawsuit filed by her parents. The allegations, which include repeated kissing and molestation behind a playground “pirate ship” structure during recess, were brought to the school’s attention in November 2025. The parents claimed their daughter suffered recurring urinary tract infections, headaches, and stomach aches, and became reluctant to attend the $14,000-a-year institution.
The family sought medical attention for the child’s symptoms, with the father describing weekly visits to doctors for nearly a year. Despite these efforts, the school reportedly dismissed concerns, sending the child home without explanation. It was only after the girl revealed the cause of her discomfort that the parents confronted the school.
In response, the school expelled the child in December 2025 and filed a countersuit against the family. The institution accused the parents of making “false and misleading” claims, arguing that any sexual contact between students was “only accidental” and that the accused child lacked the developmental capacity to engage in such behavior. The school also alleged the parents failed to teach their daughter proper hygiene and bathroom habits, which they claimed contributed to the child’s urinary tract infections.
The school further contended that the allegations damaged its reputation and subjected it to public humiliation. The parents’ lawsuit also criticized staff for allegedly being “too busy on their phones” to monitor students effectively. One preschool teacher was reportedly under a “no tell” policy, discouraging students from sharing what occurred at school with their parents.
The parents received a letter from the school’s lawyer on November 26, 2025, promising a “diligently and thoroughly investigated” response to their concerns. However, the school chose to expel the child instead, according to the suit. The case highlights ongoing concerns about accountability, safety, and the protection of minors in educational settings.
