Park Circle Cares is set to host a free food distribution event at North Charleston High School on Saturday, Nov. 15, with the aim of supporting those facing food insecurity in the community. The distribution will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the west side parking lot, accessible from the Hyde Avenue entrance. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own carts, bags, or boxes to carry the produce, as there will be no limit on the amount they can take. Additionally, the first fifty families will have the opportunity to receive meat.

This event is one of Park Circle Cares’ monthly initiatives to help alleviate the challenges faced by residents in North Charleston. CEO Orly Janssen emphasizes that their mission is to provide nutritious food while treating everyone with dignity and respect, serving people of all ages and walks of life. In line with the biblical principle of loving one’s neighbor (Matthew 25:35), Park Circle Cares is committed to serving the community through practical acts of mercy.

Guests are advised to arrive early, as the event is expected to be busy. Volunteers may open the distribution line before the official start time, but this decision will be made on the morning of the event. This initiative reflects the organization’s ongoing commitment to community support and outreach, embodying the spirit of service and compassion.

Through these efforts, Park Circle Cares continues to play a vital role in addressing food insecurity in North Charleston. By providing access to fresh produce and other essentials, the organization helps ensure that community members have the resources they need to thrive. This work aligns with the biblical call to care for those in need (Galatians 6:10), demonstrating the impact of collective action and neighborly love in fostering a supportive and resilient community.
