Georgia Youth Pastor Charged with Six Counts of Possessing Child Sex Abuse Material

A Georgia youth pastor, Daniel Menelaou, has been charged with six counts of possessing child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Menelaou, who was serving at the Alpharetta campus of Futures Church, has been terminated following his arrest. The charges arose after an investigation by the Roswell Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) unit, initiated by an online tip received in February. On March 11, authorities executed a search warrant at Menelaou’s residence, seizing multiple devices.

Menelaou, 28, now faces six felony charges related to the possession of CSAM. Futures Church, a global multisite megachurch affiliated with the Assemblies of God denomination, expressed shock and condemnation following the arrest. In a statement, the church leaders emphasized that the charges are contrary to their values and mission. They stated that they had no prior knowledge of any allegations or indications of wrongdoing.
