I had a priest look me in the eye and say, “Our job isn’t to save the world.”
I didn’t have an answer then. I do now.

If we are followers of Jesus—who sent out the 72 to heal and save, and who quoted Isaiah’s command to “do good, seek justice, and correct oppression”—then saving the world is exactly our job.

But instead of doing the work, we hide in our little churches. We wear our nice suits. We hoard our resources. We have enough wealth and talent in the Body of Christ to fix the entire world overnight, yet we do nothing. We waffle. We compromise. We play word games to justify our complacency.

I’m tired of the “hands-off” attitude. If you have the resources to fix the world but you just sit there… I’m coming to yell at you.

It’s time to stop hoarding and start saving.
