Iran Warns of Severe Retaliation After Strikes on US-Israeli Linked Oil Facilities

In a recent escalation of tensions in the Middle East, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed responsibility for a series of attacks targeting oil facilities linked to the United States in the region. This action is part of what the IRGC describes as the 63rd wave of its retaliatory campaign, Operation True Promise 4, in response to joint strikes by the US and Israel on Iranian targets. The IRGC emphasized that these strikes were also a countermeasure against efforts to penalize Iran for nationwide rallies supporting its Islamic establishment.

The IRGC stated that the conflict entered a new phase with attacks on Iran’s energy infrastructure, which they did not initially intend to target. They highlighted that the necessity to defend the country’s energy infrastructure compelled a retaliatory strike against American-linked facilities. The Corps claimed to have targeted as many as 80 military and support sites across Israel, including areas in central, southern, and eastern regions near Tel Aviv.

In a stern warning, the IRGC cautioned US-Israel forces that any further aggression would lead to more severe responses, potentially resulting in the total destruction of their energy infrastructure. This statement underscores the escalating stakes in the region, as tensions continue to rise.

Amid these developments, Iranian state media reported that suicide drones struck a US military base in Iraq, causing multiple explosions in Erbil. Additionally, explosions were reported at a US military base in Kuwait. The Israel Defense Forces confirmed that missiles were launched from Iran towards Israeli territory, with defense systems actively intercepting the threat. Concurrently, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) Centre reported several maritime security incidents, including a vessel being hit by an unknown projectile east of Khawr Fakkan in the UAE, causing a fire onboard. Another vessel was struck near Ras Laffan in Qatar. Authorities are investigating these incidents, advising vessels in the area to exercise caution and report any suspicious activity.
