Daniel Muir, a former Indianapolis Colts player and pastor, was arrested on federal charges in Pulaski County. According to the Pharos-Tribune, Muir was booked into Pulaski County Jail on August 20. He is facing charges including obstruction of justice, domestic battery, and battery resulting in serious bodily injury, all related to the disappearance of his teenage son, Bryson Muir. The trial, originally set for earlier, has been rescheduled to September 28, 2026.
Muir’s wife, Kristin, is also facing charges of obstruction of justice in connection with the same case, with her trial set for the same date. Bryson was last seen on June 14, 2024, at his grandmother Cheryl Wright’s home near Cleveland, Ohio. He was found almost three weeks later on the Muirs’ property in Logansport.
Before Bryson went missing, Wright reported to the police that Bryson had sustained injuries, including a black eye, a fat lip, and a swollen face, which she believed were being concealed by his parents. Investigators alleged that the Muirs were uncooperative during the search efforts, including when a Silver Alert was issued for Bryson.
Court documents have provided further details on the alleged abuse, including recorded phone calls. Despite efforts by the Muirs’ defense team to dismiss the case in Indiana, a judge denied the motion. Cass County prosecutor Noah Schafer indicated plans to work with the defense to reschedule the trial dates.
In a moment of transparency, Muir participated in a YouTube livestream on August 19, the day before his arrest. As the community grapples with these developments, the principles of justice, accountability, and mercy, as highlighted in Micah 6:8, remain central to navigating the complexities of this case.
