Israel Intensifies Incursions into Gaza, Killing Seven Palestinians
Israel intensified its incursions into Gaza, resulting in the deaths of seven Palestinians between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. local time on Sunday. The Israeli military conducted raids within a short timeframe, targeting areas where limited educational activities were resuming at the Islamic University in Gaza, which is associated with Hamas. The attacks included shootings from military positions along the virtual yellow line that separates Israeli forces from Palestinian factions.
The first raid caused injuries to female students from the medical school, with one described as a security threat. Another raid targeted the university’s security, killing three individuals, including at least one Hamas activist. This was preceded by the drone strike that killed two Abu Zayed brothers in Mowasi Khan Younis, south of the Gaza Strip, and injured four others, including a child, in critical condition.
Two additional Palestinians were killed in separate raids: one on Rashid Street near Hamad Hospital in Gaza City, and another in the farm area east of Deir el-Balah. Israeli forces also injured six Palestinians, including a child and a woman, across various parts of the Gaza Strip. Drones detonated explosive boxes in several neighborhoods, including Shujai, Al-Tafah, Jabaliya camp, and Jabaliya al-Qa’idah.
Israeli forces handed over the body of Ibrahim Abu Gharaba, who had been abducted alive by armed groups linked to Tel Aviv about two weeks prior. His family and witnesses reported that he was tortured. Following his abduction, armed groups surrounded the Abu Gharaba family’s homes east of Deir al-Balah, which were later burned and demolished by Israeli engineering units. Several family members were arrested and transferred to Israeli military positions, while others were allowed to move westward after being investigated.
Since the ceasefire declared on October 10, Israel has continued its military operations, with the latest incidents highlighting the ongoing conflict’s impact on civilians.
