Another Lawsuit Filed Against Pawleys Island Church Over Child Sexual Abuse by Sex Offender Warren Perry

A new lawsuit has been filed Tuesday against Pawleys Island Community Church and Pawleys Island Christian Academy, alleging that a child was sexually abused by registered sex offender Warren Perry despite church and school leaders being aware of his criminal history.

The complaint, brought by the Law Offices of Kenneth Berger on behalf of a minor and their family, is separate from a class-action lawsuit filed earlier this month concerning the same institution and investigation.

According to the lawsuit, church and academy leaders allowed Perry access to children, including inside classrooms, which they allegedly knew were at risk.

Warren Perry was denied bond following a court hearing in Georgetown County, while former pastor Don Williams, administrator Ginny Williams, and academy director Jennifer “Niki” Howard were granted bond.

The new suit further claims the family reported their concerns about abuse in 2022, but church and school leadership allegedly dismissed the information.

Amid these developments, the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office addressed the ongoing investigation into Perry’s activities at the church and academy.
