In an ongoing investigation involving Pawleys Island Community Church, Ginny Williams, a church administrator, has been charged with unlawfully placing a child at risk or causing a child harm. This charge is part of the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office’s efforts to address concerns related to the church and its associated academy.

Williams, who is married to Don Williams, holds a supervisory role at both Pawleys Island Community Church and Pawleys Island Christian Academy. The charge arises from investigative findings that have been confirmed by multiple witness statements. These findings indicate that Williams, in her supervisory capacity, engaged in actions or omissions that presented a substantial risk of a sexual offense being committed against a child.

The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office has emphasized that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Williams was arrested on a Friday morning and booked into the Georgetown County Detention Center. A bond hearing for Williams is scheduled to take place at 3 p.m. at the Georgetown County Magistrates’ Court.
