Crosstown Fellowship Church to Host Community Job Fair June 27 in Port St. Lucie
Better Together, a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening families and communities, is collaborating with Crosstown Fellowship Church in Port St. Lucie to host a community job fair on June 27. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church, located at 1885 SW Del Rio Blvd. Job seekers and employers are encouraged to register through BetterTogetherUS.org/events/Crosstown or by texting “JOBS” to 844-987-3949.
The job fair aims to connect individuals seeking employment with local employers who are prepared to hire. Participants will have access to free one-on-one job coaching sessions to review resumes and improve their job search strategies. Additional services will be available on-site to support job seekers in their pursuit of meaningful employment.
Employers participating in the event include the Boys and Girls Club of Martin County, Southeastern Traffic Supply, Treasure Coast Hospice, and Waters Express Car Wash, among others. Local resource partners will also contribute by offering various onsite services. The job fair is part of Better Together’s “Better Jobs” program, which has helped over 50,000 applicants find employment opportunities across 25 states.
Better Together’s mission extends beyond job placement. The organization works to help parents facing difficult circumstances keep their children out of foster care, find work, and address the root causes of their struggles. Through its “Better Families” program, the organization has successfully kept 98% of children served from entering foster care. The “Better Jobs” program was developed to address the economic hardship faced by 76% of families that seek assistance from Better Together.
Churches interested in hosting a Better Together job fair can visit BetterTogetherUS.org for more information. The organization relies on volunteers and is privately funded, with a focus on empowering individuals through practical support and community partnerships. By fostering connections between job seekers and employers, Better Together continues to serve as a vital resource for those in need.
The event reflects a commitment to neighbor-love and practical mercy, aligning with the biblical call to care for one another. As Galatians 6:10 reminds us, “So then, we ought to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which we have been called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with patience, showing forbearance one to another in love.” Through initiatives like the community job fair, Better Together embodies this spirit of service and support.
