The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced the dedication date for its third temple in Tennessee. The Knoxville Tennessee Temple will be dedicated on Sunday, March 7, 2027, by Elder David A. Bednar of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.

The temple, which will be the third operating temple in the state, will host a free public open house for guests of all faiths and ages. The open house will run from Wednesday, Jan. 27, through Saturday, Feb. 13, with tours available every Monday through Saturday. Media tours are scheduled for Jan. 25, and private tours for invited guests will follow on Jan. 26.

Construction of the Knoxville Tennessee Temple began in January 2024. The temple was first announced in April 2022 by the late church President Russell M. Nelson. Once dedicated, the Knoxville temple will join the state’s two other currently operating temples in Memphis and Nashville, Tennessee.

The three temples will serve the state’s nearly 62,000 Latter-day Saints. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints maintains a global network of temples, which are central to its religious practices and community service efforts. The Knoxville temple will continue this tradition, offering spiritual and family-focused services to members and visitors alike.
