Donor Sues Sean Feucht for Allegedly Misappropriating $250,000 Donation

A California generator company owner, Steve Bray, has filed a lawsuit against worship leader Sean Feucht, alleging misuse of a $250,000 donation. Bray claims that the funds, intended to support Feucht’s 2023 Let Us Worship – Kingdom to the Capitol Tour, were instead diverted for personal use, including the purchase of real estate. The lawsuit, filed in federal court on March 6, accuses Feucht of fraudulent misrepresentation, negligent misrepresentation, unfair business practices, and civil theft by false pretenses.

According to the lawsuit, Feucht misrepresented the intended use of the donation, assuring Bray that the funds would cover multiple tour stops, with internal financial statements indicating each event would cost approximately $21,786. However, Bray’s attorneys argue that the donations were instead funneled into Feucht’s personal accounts. Christine Jones, one of Bray’s attorneys, is also a board member of The Roys Report, the source of this report.

This legal action is not the first instance of Bray alleging financial misconduct by Christian ministers. Previously, Bray and his wife were among nine former members and donors of Dwelling Place in Anaheim, California, who sued the church after it left Vineyard USA. The lawsuit claimed that pastors Alan and Kathryn Scott misappropriated $62 million in church assets. However, a judge ruled that the plaintiffs lacked legal standing as they were not on the church board.

Feucht has faced similar accusations in the past. Last year, nine former associates publicly accused him of embezzlement, wire fraud, and failure to report income to the IRS, highlighting ongoing concerns about financial integrity within some religious organizations. As Feucht did not respond to requests for comment, the case continues to unfold, underscoring the importance of transparency and accountability in maintaining public trust.

In addressing such matters, the biblical principle of justice and accountability, as reflected in Micah 6:8, calls for acting justly and loving mercy, emphasizing the need for truth and integrity in all dealings.
