First United Pentecostal Church in Salisbury, MD to Hold Celebration of Life for Maryann Gillespie

Maryann Elizabeth Gillespie, 82, of Crisfield, Maryland, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025, at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional. Born on February 20, 1943, in Queen Anne’s County, she was the daughter of the late John and Mildred Grant.

Maryann spent most of her life in Salisbury, Maryland. She worked as a dedicated supervisor at Kmart for over 30 years until her retirement in 2005. After retiring, she moved to Florida in 2010 before returning to Maryland in 2014.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, John Gillespie, Sr., who describes her as the love of his life. She is also survived by her children: daughters Linda (Cary) Slipper and Sue (Evan) Keller, and her son John (Lisa) Gillespie, Jr. She leaves behind two grandchildren, David and Justin.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 18th, at 4:30 p.m. at First United Pentecostal Church, 214 Maple Way, Salisbury, MD 21804, followed by a reception. A Gathering of Family and Friends will take place one hour prior to the celebration. Rev. Janice Hathaway will officiate the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Maryann to First United Pentecostal Church, 214 Maple Way, Salisbury, MD 21804.
