Israel Conducts Airstrikes in Gaza and Increases Arrests in West Bank
One Palestinian was killed and another seriously injured on Sunday due to an Israeli drone attack in the southern Gaza Strip, specifically north-west of Khan Younis. The Israeli military also shelled areas east of Gaza City, according to reports from the Palestinian agency WAFA.
A Palestinian from the town of Attil, north of Tulkarem in the West Bank, died while being detained at the Anab military checkpoint. The Israeli forces also arrested a former prisoner from the same area, along with two Palestinians in Nablus. During raids in Jenin province, Israeli forces detained a journalist and two young men in the towns of Arraba and Kafr Dan.
In Nablus, Israeli settlers attacked students from Huwara high school on their way to class. Other settlers attacked a farmer in Aqraba during the olive harvest, stealing his production and work tools. In Hebron, settlers set fire to a vehicle and attacked Palestinian houses in Samu. The Israeli military also detained two individuals during an incursion into Beit Ummar.
Two 15-year-olds were detained in Al-Tur, south-east of occupied Jerusalem. In Ramallah and Bireh Province, Israeli forces reinforced military measures, closed several roads, and set up checkpoints, causing serious traffic jams. Israeli settlers also razed agricultural land in Umm Safa village, north-west of Ramallah, to expand a settler outpost.
In Mughayyir, east of Ramallah, several Palestinians experienced symptoms of asphyxiation from tear gas used by the Israeli forces during a settler attack. Occupation machinery also destroyed dozens of dunams of olive trees and detained several students. In Ramin, east of Tulkarem, Israeli settlers attacked farmers collecting olives, stole the harvest and tools, and beat one of them.
Earlier on Sunday, a bombing by the Israeli occupying forces in Dayr al-Balah, in the middle of the Gaza Strip, killed two Palestinians, including a girl, and injured ten others.
