Israeli Airstrike in Gaza Kills Seven Palestinians
GAZA – At least seven Palestinians died in Israeli fire across the Gaza Strip on Saturday, including one who died from wounds sustained on Friday, according to Palestinian medical and local sources. The casualties were reported by Palestinian medical and local sources, detailing the impact of Israeli military actions in the region.
In the latest incident, an Israeli drone fired a missile at a gathering of Palestinians west of Gaza city, causing a massive explosion, local sources said. The area was crowded with pedestrians due to the presence of restaurants, shops, institutions, and tents sheltering displaced people, the sources said. This incident highlights the ongoing tensions and the impact of military operations on civilian areas.
Al-Shifa Medical Complex said in a brief statement that it had received the bodies of four people killed in the strike and six others wounded, some of them moderately or seriously wounded. The medical facility’s report underscores the severity of the casualties and the immediate humanitarian needs in the region.
In a separate incident, 44-year-old Mohammed Walid al-Nakhala was killed and several others wounded in an Israeli airstrike targeting a gathering of Palestinians near a mosque northeast of Gaza city, medical sources said. The attack near a religious site further illustrates the complex and often tragic circumstances faced by civilians in conflict zones.
Medical sources also reported that eight-year-old Shahd Abdul-Razzaq al-Najjar was killed when an Israeli drone fired at her family’s tent west of Gaza city. The tragic loss of a child’s life adds a deeply human dimension to the ongoing conflict, emphasizing the need for accountability and justice.
Meanwhile, Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, the southern Gaza Strip, said that Mousa Abu Dan had died of wounds sustained in Israeli shelling on Friday in the Al-Mawasi area, west of Khan Younis. This incident contributes to the growing toll of civilian casualties, as reported by local health authorities.
Since a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel took effect in October 2025, Israeli attacks have killed 1,481 people, bringing the total death toll since Oct 7, 2023, to 74,370, according to Gaza-based health authorities on Saturday. These figures reflect the prolonged and devastating impact of the conflict on the civilian population.
