Israeli airstrike kills 3 Palestinians in Gaza displacement camp
At least 11 Palestinians were killed and 50 wounded by Israeli fire and airstrikes across Gaza in the past 24 hours, including three people killed in a strike on a displacement camp in the south, according to Palestinian medical sources and first responders.
The dead were identified as Hossam al-Zamli, Tamer Abu Sneima and seven-year-old Jouri al-Soufi, according to Nasser Hospital and Gaza’s education ministry. Several other people, including a woman and a child, were wounded and taken to the hospital. Israel’s military told AFP it was investigating reports of the strike.
Separately, a security source in Gaza said Israeli tanks, military vehicles and a bulldozer advanced on Monday morning into an area west of the so-called Yellow Line in eastern Deir al-Balah, in central Gaza.
The advance coincided with heavy gunfire towards the eastern and northern parts of the area, where hundreds of displaced families live. The Yellow Line was established under a US-brokered ceasefire that took effect in October 2025, separating areas under Israeli control from those held by Hamas.
Gaza’s health ministry says more than 1,500 people have been killed in the territory since the ceasefire began. The wider war began on October 7, 2023, when Hamas attacked southern Israel, killing 1,221 people, according to an AFP tally based on official Israeli figures.
Israel’s subsequent military campaign has killed more than 74,500 people in Gaza, according to the territory’s health ministry. The United Nations considers the ministry’s casualty figures reliable.
