New Apostolic Church Switzerland’s Charity Allocates Over 1.7 Million Francs for Social and Humanitarian Projects in 2023
NAK-Humanitas, the charity of the New Apostolic Church Switzerland, allocated over 1.7 million Swiss francs in 2023 to support social, charitable, and humanitarian initiatives both domestically and internationally. The foundation’s annual report details the distribution of funds, highlighting efforts to foster solidarity and uphold Christian values through practical aid.
The total direct project expenditure amounted to 1,794,645.25 Swiss francs, divided between domestic and international projects. Domestic projects received 831,451.25 francs, while international initiatives were supported with 860,313.47 francs. District Apostle Helper Thomas Deubel, president of the foundation board, emphasized that the work reflects a commitment to Christian charity and compassion.
One example of the charity’s impact is the support provided to the CSP (Entre social protestant) in the canton of Vaud. A contribution of 10,000 francs helped fund free professional social and legal assistance for residents. Another 5,000 francs was used to purchase a Crdl, a musical instrument that translates touch into sound, enabling people with physical or cognitive challenges to experience meaningful connections.
Twenty thousand francs supported the 147 crisis support hotline in Switzerland, offering young people a safe space to discuss mental distress through phone, WhatsApp, or email. In Togo, 50,000 francs aided people with disabilities through a partnership with the German organization MUT, facilitating a future workshop where participants create wood products to support their living expenses.
Eleven children and young people at Casa Pinocchio in Romania received nearly 80,000 francs to cover the costs of living in a family-like environment, including occasional excursions and essential needs. The operating costs of the children’s home are entirely funded by NAK-Humanitas, as the government does not provide financial support.
The charity’s efforts reflect a dedication to caring for the vulnerable, echoing Micah 6:8, which calls for justice, mercy, and humble service. Through these initiatives, NAK-Humanitas continues to demonstrate its commitment to alleviating hardship and promoting dignity.
