Carlos Partida, principal of St. Joseph Catholic Academy, emphasized the need for a comprehensive city plan addressing security, supervision, and emergency response, particularly given the shelter’s closeness to a school. JT Haun, representing Armor of God Outreach, acknowledged these concerns and expressed a commitment to working with the community. He is in discussions with security companies to ensure the facility’s safety, including a company that has offered assistance following the meeting.
Haun is actively engaging with the community to address concerns and hopes for understanding and support. The rezoning request now moves to the city council for final approval, with a presentation scheduled for October 6.
