The Unitarian Church of Los Alamos is a vibrant community that engages in various activities throughout the week. Sunday services are complemented by hospitality events, small group fellowships, and a diverse array of Sunday music. Congregants noted Rev. DeYoe’s unique ability to connect with people, which has fostered a sense of belonging and care within the community. Her ministry has also emphasized social justice, with congregants actively involved in efforts to combat homelessness, food insecurity, and other forms of injustice.
Rev. DeYoe’s commitment to inclusive educational models, interfaith learning, and values-based growth has been a cornerstone of her ministry. She became an ordained Unitarian Universalist Minister in October 2023, following a decade as the Director of Lifespan Religious Education for the Los Alamos congregation. Her background includes a Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary, earned in 2010, and a year of volunteer work in a women’s shelter in Guatemala.
After returning to the United States, Rev. DeYoe completed a year-long chaplain residency program at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. It was during this time that she found her spiritual home in Unitarian Universalism. Her personal interests include hiking, traveling, cross stitch, and caring for her pets. She also enjoys singing, having recently participated in the Los Alamos Light Opera’s production of *Sister Act* as the nun Sister Mary Bloody Mary.
