Youth Pastor Charged with DUI Manslaughter and Vehicular Homicide in Crash Killing 8-Year-Old Daughter

A youth pastor in South Florida is facing serious criminal charges following a deadly DUI crash on Military Trail in West Palm Beach. Joel Isaias Leiniz, 38, was arrested by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office after an investigation into the January 17th incident, wherein he allegedly drove under the influence and at excessive speeds, resulting in the death of his eight-year-old daughter, Zoe Leiniz.
According to official reports, Leiniz was driving a 2017 Audi Q7 at a speed of approximately 104 mph when he lost control and crashed into a concrete pole. The event data recorder from the vehicle corroborated the high speed, and investigators confirmed Leiniz was impaired at the time of the crash. All four individuals inside the vehicle were transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center, but tragically, Zoe was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.
Leiniz is charged with DUI manslaughter and vehicular homicide for the death of his child. The charges stem from allegations that his impairment and reckless driving directly caused Zoe’s fatal injuries.
