I Went First
Brothers and sisters in Christ, let me share a journey. About a year ago, a call was made to step out into the world’s brokenness, to confront the suffering and sin that seem to overrun everything around us. The world is a dark place, filled with injustice, corruption, and a loss of moral clarity. It’s clear—if you’re comfortable here, something’s off. Scripture tells us to do good, seek justice, and correct oppression. But it also shows us that it’s not enough to simply speak the name of Jesus; we’re called to action.
Over the past year, the journey began with those words: “I’ll go first.” I immersed myself in this fight—dove into the suffering, stood with the hurting, and tried to make an impact where I could. This isn’t about patting anyone on the back, but about acknowledging that suffering is real, and we’re commanded to do something about it.
Isaiah 1:17 says, “Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, and plead the widow’s cause.” That’s the heartbeat of this message today. We’ve all got a part to play, and this journey is just the beginning. The cost is high—it was costly in every way imaginable, but worth every single step if even one soul finds truth in Christ through it.
In this video, you’ll hear about what it means to stand up, go first, and live out faith in a world hostile to righteousness. It’s not a smooth path. It’s full of trials, heartbreak, and setbacks. But none of that compares to the glory of God’s call to bring His Kingdom to bear on this world.
This challenge is not just mine; it’s for all of us. We are called to speak for the voiceless, to defend those who can’t defend themselves, and to walk in the light of Christ even when the darkness tries to swallow us. Together, as a body of believers, we must push forward and stand firm, trusting God to guide our steps, just as He promises.
So what’s next? The world needs more than words; it needs warriors for the Kingdom. The world doesn’t change unless we’re willing to stand in the gap and suffer with the suffering, as Christ did for us. Who’s ready to go next?
