In a tragic incident that has deeply affected the community, Joel Isaias Leiniz, a 38-year-old youth pastor, has been arrested on charges of DUI manslaughter and vehicular homicide. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office reported that Leiniz was allegedly driving at 104 mph when his vehicle lost control, resulting in a fatal crash on South Military Trail near West Palm Beach on January 17. This devastating event claimed the life of his 8-year-old daughter, Zoe Alaya Leiniz.
Leiniz, who is known to work as a youth pastor in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale area, is now facing the dual burden of legal proceedings and personal grief. The crash occurred around 9:55 p.m. after multiple 911 calls were made to report the incident. Deputies found Leiniz driving a 2017 Audi Q7 with three of his children inside. The vehicle collided with a concrete pole, and all four occupants were transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center for treatment. Tragically, 8-year-old Zoe Alaya Leiniz was pronounced dead at 10:46 p.m. due to injuries sustained in the crash.
