Wisconsin Church Elder Charged with Sexual Assault of Minor, Incest: Police Report Girl’s Allegations of Years of Abuse.

In a recent legal development, Greg R. Douma, a former elder at The Point church in Winthrop Harbor, has been arrested on serious charges of repeated sexual assault of a child, child sexual assault, and incest. The allegations, which span several years, began when the victim was as young as six years old and continued until she was 12. This case was brought to the attention of Pleasant Prairie Police by a state Department of Children and Family Services employee following a report by the underage girl at a mental health facility where she was receiving care.

The investigation revealed that the abuse began under the guise of watching videos, as per the victim’s account. She described how Douma would exploit her interest in kitchen videos, leading to repeated assaults. The victim recounted that Douma had warned her of the illegality of their actions and the potential personal repercussions, including the threat of divorce from his wife.

In a subsequent confession, Douma admitted to the allegations, acknowledging the frequency and duration of the abuse. He was arraigned in Kenosha County Court, where he posted a $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear again in court on December 16.
