Awake Jerusalem hosts international Christian leaders from 51 nations at Tower of David
The Tower of David in Jerusalem will host an international gathering of Christian leaders from 51 nations on October 3, 2026, as part of the annual Awake Jerusalem music festival organized by Eagles’ Wings. The event, which includes live music and worship, will be broadcast globally, allowing Christian audiences worldwide to participate. This gathering marks the culmination of a ten-day visit led by Bishop Robert Stearns, founder and president of Eagles’ Wings, who has brought over 550 Christian leaders to Israel.
The visit began during the Jewish holiday of Sukkot and continues through the third anniversary of the October 7 attacks. The delegation includes representatives from churches and networks that collectively reach tens of millions of Christians. The organizers aim for the leaders to gain a deeper understanding of Israel, its people, and the experiences of the past three years. The event is described as “more than a concert,” emphasizing an “encounter with God in the land of the Bible.”
The festival will bring together Christian artists from around the world, alongside the visiting leaders, and will be streamed through various Christian media platforms. Among the participants are prominent figures such as Bishop Dr. David A. Sobrepeña from the Philippines, Rev. Ricardo Castillo Medina from Costa Rica, and Rev. Dr. Reinaldo dos Santos from Brazil. High-level delegations from Nigeria, including members of the Warri Kingdom and the country’s Minister of Defence, are also participating.
The itinerary extends beyond the festival, with planned meetings between the visiting leaders and Israeli officials, including members of the Israeli government, the Israel Defense Forces, and the Foreign Ministry. Faith leaders, returned hostages, and bereaved families will also be included in these encounters. The goal is to provide the visiting leaders with firsthand perspectives on Israel’s security challenges and its regional position.
Eagles’ Wings has organized these meetings to equip the leaders with context they can share with their congregations and broader networks. The group will also engage in a strategic briefing with Israeli officials and faith leaders to examine the country’s security challenges and its role in the region. This initiative reflects a commitment to fostering understanding and dialogue among global Christian communities and Israel.
