Churches Unite for Interfaith Prayer Service on Peace and Security
The International Pentecost Holiness Church (IPHC) hosted an interfaith prayer service in Heidelberg on Sunday, 5 November, with the theme “Prayer for Peace and Security in South Africa, Africa and the Middle East.” Thousands of congregants from various churches, along with allied faith-based organizations, NGOs, traditional leaders, and political party representatives, gathered at the IPHC Kanana City headquarters for the event.
Under the leadership of His Grace, Successor MG Sandlana, the service emphasized the need for divine intervention in addressing the high crime rate and the lack of government services in the Mzansi region. MG Sandlana welcomed attendees and highlighted the importance of unity among different faith groups in seeking God’s guidance.
The church spokesman, Vusi Ndala, stated that the prayer session aimed to address pressing social issues and prepare for the 2024 National and Provincial Elections. He noted that the Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) had launched its election program, underscoring the significance of the upcoming elections as a key moment in the country’s democratic journey.
Ndala emphasized the role of faith-based organizations in advocating for peace and security, urging all South Africans to seek divine intervention before, during, and after the elections. The service reflected a collective call for justice, mercy, and humble service, aligning with the biblical theme of Micah 6:8.
