Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Ghana Congratulates Togo’s Presbyterian Church on Leadership Transition
The Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana (EPCG) has expressed gratitude to Almighty God for His faithfulness during the leadership transition of the Église Évangélique Presbytérienne du Togo (EEPT). In a message of goodwill, the EPCG extended appreciation and congratulations to Rev. Dr. Daniel Akotia Mawusi, the 16th Moderator of the EEPT, for his service and commitment to the Church’s unity and growth.
The EPCG prayed for the Lord to replenish the outgoing Moderator’s strength and continue to bless his ministry, quoting Matthew 25:23: “Well done, good and faithful servant… enter into the joy of your Lord.” They also warmly congratulated Rev. Dr. Yaovi Mawunya Fidèle Nayo, the newly inducted 17th Moderator, and prayed for him to be guided by wisdom, knowledge, and grace as he leads the EEPT according to God’s will, referencing James 1:5.
The EPCG further asked God to grant Rev. Dr. Nayo the heart of a shepherd, the vision of a servant-leader, and the courage to act, expressing hope that his leadership will strengthen fellowship and inspire a new generation, citing Hebrews 10:24. As sister churches within the Presbyterian and Norddeutsche Mission family, the EPCG assured the EEPT of its prayers, fellowship, and support, emphasizing solidarity in a future of peace, unity, growth, and mission.
They congratulated both the outgoing and incoming moderators and the entire EEPT family, declaring, “Unless the LORD builds the house, they labour in vain who build it – Psalm 127:1.” The message affirmed that Christ should remain at the centre, the Holy Spirit the guide, and the glory of God the ultimate goal.
