Peters Creek Baptist Church Diaper Ministry Provides Essential Supplies to 75 Families

Peters Creek Baptist Church in South Park has long been recognized for its commitment to community outreach. Among its many initiatives, the church operates a diaper pantry that provides essential items to families in need. This program, known as the PCBC Diaper Ministry, offers diapers for babies and adults, along with clothing and other supplies for children.

The ministry serves a diverse group of families, including those facing financial hardship or unexpected challenges. Cynthia Wyne, a regular visitor to the pantry, relies on its resources to support her elderly mother and her grandchildren. She shared that the ministry has been particularly helpful for her daughter, who lost her partner in an accident and is raising twin boys. The pantry has provided essential items, including pull-ups, as the children have grown older.

The ministry has grown significantly since its inception. Diller, a church representative, recalled that when the program began, there was only one round table with diapers, and the church had fewer than 20 bags of diapers. Today, the pantry serves approximately 75 families, reflecting the growing demand for such support.

The program is entirely volunteer-run and relies on generous donations from church members and the broader community. Kerr, another church representative, emphasized the joy of being able to help others. “Everything you see here on the shelves and what we call our clothing store is all donated by members of this church and the community at large,” Kerr said. “It makes my heart so happy to help people.”

In addition to providing essential items, the church also offers practical assistance through home improvements and yard work. These efforts reflect a broader commitment to serving neighbors in tangible ways.
