In a recent development, Shreveport pastor Timothy Thomas, 42, was arrested for a second time on charges of contractor fraud. This arrest marks a continuation of legal troubles for Thomas, who had previously faced similar charges earlier this year. The latest arrest occurred after an investigation into complaints from victims who alleged that Thomas took over $310,000 for a home construction project but failed to complete the work.
The incident unfolded when Thomas entered into a contract in August 2024 to build a home for $440,000. As the project progressed, the homeowners began to notice significant discrepancies in the construction quality and raised concerns. Upon further investigation, authorities discovered that Thomas’ residential contractor license had expired in August 2020, which compounded the legal issues surrounding his business practices.
This is not the first time Thomas has been implicated in such matters. In March, he was arrested by the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office for contractor fraud related to the incomplete construction of a home in Greenwood. In that case, a couple accused him of accepting $350,000 of the agreed $475,000 contract price without completing the project. The couple subsequently filed a civil suit and pursued criminal charges against Thomas.
Currently, Thomas is being held at the Caddo Correctional Center on a charge of home improvement fraud, with no bond set. His previous court appearance for the parish charge was on August 4, and further proceedings are scheduled for November 10, with a trial set for December 1.
In the community, Thomas is known as the senior pastor of Living Word Christian Fellowship on Hollywood Avenue and is listed as the owner of Thomas Construction Company.
