The Bridge Church Opens Evacuation Center for Families with Disabled Children

The Bridge Church has opened its facilities as an evacuation center for families with disabled children impacted by the ongoing Hawk fire. This initiative reflects the church’s commitment to serving the community through mercy and practical support during times of crisis.

The church has specifically tailored its response to meet the unique needs of families with children who have disabilities. The facility is equipped to provide shelter and assistance, ensuring that these families receive the care and resources they require during the evacuation.

In addition to offering shelter, The Bridge Church is actively coordinating with local disaster relief networks. This collaboration aims to streamline efforts and ensure that resources are distributed effectively to those in need.

The church is also seeking volunteers to assist with the response. Volunteers are needed to set up cots and help manage various tasks at the Reno/Sparks Convention Center. Those who are safe and able to assist are encouraged to contact the church at (775)593-7133 to be deployed.

This action aligns with the biblical principle of caring for the vulnerable, as seen in Matthew 25:35, which emphasizes the importance of helping those in need. The church’s efforts demonstrate a commitment to neighbor-love and practical compassion.

The Bridge Church’s response underscores the value of community support and the role of faith-based organizations in disaster relief. By providing a safe space for families, the church is fulfilling its mission to serve and uplift those facing hardship.

As the situation evolves, The Bridge Church remains dedicated to supporting families affected by the Hawk fire. Their continued efforts reflect a deep sense of responsibility and a desire to make a tangible difference in the lives of others.
