The Salvation Army Zhongyuan Charity Foundation Kindergarten, the organization’s 24th kindergarten, opened on December 5 with a ceremony marking its dedication to the mission of “Displaying God’s Love and Cultivating Children.” The event was attended by Mr. Huang Weixiong, Chairman of the Zhongyuan Charity Foundation, and Colonel Fu Sanchuan, Commander of the Hong Kong and Macao Military District of the Salvation Army and Chairman of the School Board. Following the ceremony, both officials inspected the facility to observe the learning environment of the young children.

The kindergarten, located in Meitian Village, Sha Tin, was established with a generous donation of HK$1,300,690 from the Zhongyuan Charity Foundation Limited. The funds were used to renovate the premises and acquire essential educational equipment, including an electric kitchen, multimedia teaching tools, computers, audio systems, and Montessori materials. These resources aim to provide a well-equipped setting for the children’s development.

The Salvation Army emphasized that the kindergarten is committed to nurturing children in moral, intellectual, physical, social, aesthetic, and spiritual aspects. During the opening, an exhibition of students’ learning achievements highlighted the teachers’ professional skills and their dedication to guiding children through observation, questioning, and experimentation.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Mr. Huang Weixiong and Colonel Fu Sanchuan. Following the event, the kindergarten welcomed the public for two consecutive days. Students served as tour guides, sharing their experiences in exploring “vining plants.” Visitors were impressed by the children’s observations and insights into nature. Additionally, the students displayed their designs for “lights” for the future world, showcasing their imagination and creative thinking.

The Salvation Army stated that early childhood education is the foundation for lifelong learning. The organization expressed its commitment to collaborating with parents and members of society to support the holistic development of children. This initiative reflects the Salvation Army’s ongoing efforts to demonstrate God’s love through its charitable and educational programs.
