Jews for Jesus is an organization that proclaims Jesus as the Messiah of Israel and Savior of the world. Founded by the late Moishe Rosen, a Jew who believed in Jesus for over 35 years, the group emphasizes that belief in Jesus aligns with the Jewish Bible and personal experiences of faith. Rosen clarified that he did not “start” Jews for Jesus, stating the organization began around 32 C.E., when Jesus’ first disciples were Jewish and some Jews have believed in him since.
The organization maintains permanent branches in eight North American cities, including San Francisco, Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, Toronto, New York City, Washington D.C., and Ft. Lauderdale. It also has over 127 volunteer chapters across 41 states and five countries. International branches are based in Johannesburg, London, Paris, Odessa, Moscow, Essen, Rio de Janeiro, Kharkov, Dnepropetrovsk, and Tel Aviv.
Jews for Jesus asserts that belief in Jesus is consistent with Jewish teachings and personal faith experiences. The group acknowledges challenges from those who argue Christianity contradicts Judaism, and representatives will address these concerns during the presentation. The event aims to foster dialogue and understanding between Jewish and Christian communities through shared scriptural and historical perspectives.
