Archdiocesan District Honors Servant Leaders at Annual Awards Banquet
Archdiocesan District clergy and faithful gathered at VIP Country Club in New Rochelle, New York, for the Annual Servant Leadership Awards Banquet on June 9, 2026. More than 750 attendees included clergy and parishioners from throughout the Direct Archdiocesan District. The event was attended by His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America and His Eminence Metropolitan Myron of New Zealand, who honored individuals for their service to the Church.
Archbishop Elpidophoros emphasized the importance of servant leadership, drawing a parallel to the Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ. He noted that true leadership in the Church is modeled after Christ, who guides and protects his flock and seeks those who are lost. The banquet aimed to celebrate those who exemplify this spirit through their dedication and commitment.
Each parish recognized one adult and one young adult for their contributions to their communities. These individuals demonstrated generosity and a commitment to Christ and His Church, making a lasting impact. Their service reflects the belief that a parish’s holiness is determined by the people who offer their hearts and hands to God’s work.
The honorees embody the spirit of servant leadership, inspiring others to continue building up the Body of Christ. Their ministries serve as a reminder of the importance of selfless service and dedication to the Church’s mission. Congratulations were extended to this year’s recipients, with hopes that God will continue to bless their efforts.
The event highlighted the role of individuals in strengthening the Church through their actions and dedication. It reinforced the value of community and service, aligning with the teachings that emphasize care for others and the pursuit of justice and mercy. The banquet served as a celebration of these values, encouraging continued commitment to the Church’s mission.
