Harvestime Outreach Church Hosts Sundae Funday to Support Africa Missions Fundraiser
Harvestime Outreach Church in Hudson is hosting a community event designed to bring people together while supporting a global mission. The Sundae Funday: Africa Missions Fundraiser will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 19. The event will feature ice cream sundaes, food, outdoor games, a meat raffle, and a silent auction. All proceeds will go toward supporting Harvestime’s upcoming mission trip to Africa, with a fundraising goal of $10,000.
The fundraiser occurs during a time of transition for the church. Earlier this year, longtime Senior Pastor Randy Simonson retired after 25 years of service. During his tenure, he built strong relationships with churches and ministry partners worldwide, leaving a legacy of missions and global outreach. Now, under the leadership of Senior Pastor Joel Jones, Harvestime continues to carry forward that mission.
Pastor Jones emphasized the church’s commitment to reaching the world with the love of Jesus. “We want this fundraiser to be more than just raising money for a few people traveling overseas,” he said. “We want our church family and community to be a part of what God is doing in Africa.”
This fall, a team from Harvestime will travel to South Africa to host a four-day missions conference for their ministry partners across Africa. These pastors and missionaries, many of whom the church has supported for years, serve as the hands and feet of Jesus in villages, churches, and schools across the continent. The conference is intended to refresh and minister to these leaders, with Harvestime covering all expenses.
Following the conference, members of the team will travel to Kenya to commission a new partner ministry in Bahati, ordain pastors, dedicate churches, and participate in evangelistic crusades in Bahati and Kisumu. The event invites the public to join in supporting these efforts through fun and fellowship.
The church encourages attendees to bring a friend or stop by anytime between 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. to enjoy lunch, ice cream, and family-friendly activities while contributing to a meaningful cause. The event reflects the church’s ongoing dedication to serving others, as seen in Galatians 6:10, which calls believers to do good to all people and especially to those in the household of faith.
