Hispanic Anabaptist Bible Seminary Partners with Mosaic and Church of the Brethren for Theological Training
The Hispanic Anabaptist Biblical Seminary (SeBAH) of Mennonite Church USA has entered into a partnership with Mosaic Mennonite Conference and the Church of the Brethren. This collaboration aims to enhance SeBAH’s certificate-level training program for Spanish-speaking leaders and individuals in ministry. The initiative is designed to provide accessible theological education rooted in the Anabaptist tradition, with a focus on ministerial development and pastoral competencies.
The program includes an orientation session that introduces students to academic reading and writing, as well as the use of educational technologies to support their learning. Courses will be delivered virtually through the Moodle platform and other online tools, allowing participants from diverse locations to engage in the training. A minimum of 12 courses will be offered, emphasizing the theological and practical skills essential for effective ministry within Anabaptist communities.
The Church of the Brethren, which has partnered with SeBAH for a decade, will contribute academic resources, faculty, and administrative support to develop several courses and educational experiences. Mosaic Mennonite Conference, meanwhile, seeks to expand theological training opportunities for Hispanic leaders and strengthen congregational life through this initiative.
This alliance reflects a shared commitment among the involved institutions to invest in the formation of leaders who serve with faithfulness, preparation, and sensitivity to the contexts in which they are called to minister. The collaboration underscores the importance of equipping Spanish-speaking individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to fulfill their roles within Anabaptist communities.
The partnership also highlights the growing emphasis on inclusivity and accessibility in theological education. By offering virtual courses and leveraging technology, SeBAH ensures that Spanish-speaking leaders can receive training regardless of their geographic location. This approach aligns with the Anabaptist tradition of valuing service, community, and the spread of the Gospel.
The collaboration between SeBAH, Mosaic Mennonite Conference, and the Church of the Brethren exemplifies the spirit of unity and shared purpose among Anabaptist denominations. It demonstrates a collective effort to support the growth and development of leaders who can effectively serve their congregations and communities. This initiative is part of a broader movement to ensure that theological education remains relevant and accessible to all who seek it.
