Jehovah’s Witnesses Announce Large Attendance Expected at Athlone Conference (Athlone, Ireland)
A Jehovah’s Witnesses conference in Athlone is anticipated to attract over 1,000 participants each day during its three-day event in August. The ‘Declare the Good News’ convention will be held at the Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) from August 2 to 4. The gathering is expected to boost the local economy through increased spending at nearby businesses, including restaurants, shops, and hotels.
The event, which is open to the public and free of charge, will feature Bible-based talks, interviews, and video presentations. It will run from 9:20 a.m. each day until the afternoon, with an 80-minute lunch break. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with the organization’s teachings and participate in its annual program.
Karl O’Grady, a spokesperson for Jehovah’s Witnesses in the West of Ireland, expressed enthusiasm about bringing the convention to various regions in Ireland, including Cork, Dublin, Waterford, Athlone, and Belfast. He noted that these events are a highlight for many, offering a positive experience amid challenging times.
The organization emphasizes the importance of community and shared purpose, reflecting a commitment to spreading its message and supporting its members. The conference serves as a platform for members to connect, learn, and grow in their faith, while also engaging with the broader public.
