New Apostolic Church Women Donate Supplies to Chikwawa Hospital Patients
The Women’s group (Atumwi) from the New Apostolic Church in Dyeratu, Chikwawa District, visited patients at Chikwawa District Hospital on Sunday, bringing gifts and messages of love. Led by their Chairlady of Sisters Fellowship, Esnart Dinyero, the group distributed items such as Ufa, Soya pieces, salt, and soap to more than 50 patients.
The donation, which cost K500,000, was described by Dinyero as an act of living out the teachings of Christ. She emphasized the importance of reaching out to those in need, stating, “As Christians, we have to do what Jesus Christ taught us — to reach out to people in need with the little that God has blessed us.”
Patients like Atamelesi Sigalu and Davie Ngulande expressed gratitude for the gesture, noting that the visit provided them with strength and hope during their hospital stay. Ngulande said, “It is not easy being in the hospital, but when people remember and visit us like this, it gives us strength and hope.”
The hospital spokesperson, Settie Piliminta, praised the church women for their compassion and generosity. She encouraged others to follow the example set by the Sisters Fellowship, stating, “We are truly grateful for this gesture. It means a lot to the patients.”
The visit included singing, prayer, and meaningful interactions between the Atumwi members and the patients. These moments highlighted the power of kindness and faith in bringing comfort and hope to those in need. As Micah 6:8 reminds us, to do justice, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with God is a call to action that this group sought to fulfill.
