Report: Sexual Abuse Alleged at Santa Fe Prison School
One candidate denounced seven comrades and the Justice has already ordered the arrest of the defendants.
An applicant for the provincial prison service reported having been the victim of a simple sexual abuse, allegedly committed by seven colleagues from the same institution in the city of Santa Fe.
The indictment resulted in an operation by the Investigative Police (IDP) which left two detainees so far while the remaining five are being searched.
The provincial director of criminal investigation at the Ministry of Justice and Security, Rolando Galfrascoli, said that the complaint was made by a cadet from the prison training school, who reported having suffered sexual abuse by seven colleagues in his same promotion.
According to the official, all those mentioned are boys, adults, who are required to enter the school, and are in the first year, since they entered the institution in March of this year.
The prosecutor in charge of the case, Jorgelina Moser Ferro, ordered the arrest of the seven accused, two of whom are already in prison, while the PDI, along with the gender area and the provincial trafficking agency, continue to search for the remaining five.
Asked about the legal qualification, Galfrascoli indicated that the case began under the simple sexual abuse with aggravating circumstances, although he clarified that it could be modified once the medical and psychological teams that accompany the victim intervene and the imputative hearing is held. “It is a serious crime, but of private instance,” he remarked, referring to the fact that it was the victim himself who decided to denounce.
The official said that, for the time being, the investigation points to a single and recent episode, which occurred within the educational establishment. He did not rule out, however, that the justice system should investigate whether there were previously unreported situations.
