Corrections and Removals
Last updated: October 31, 2026
We want every article to be accurate and fair. Here is how to ask for a correction, an update or a removal, and how we decide.
Reporting an error
Write to jason@christit.com with the link to the article, what is wrong, and if you can, a source that shows the correct facts. We fix factual errors, and for a significant one we add a note at the end of the article saying what changed.
When a case changes
If charges were dropped, a case was dismissed, a person was acquitted, or a record was sealed or expunged, send us the link and a court record or news report that shows it. We will update the article, and we may remove the person’s name or the article.
Asking for an article to be removed
We look at each request on its own. We consider:
- whether the person held a public role, such as a pastor or church leader, and the story is about that role;
- how serious it was, how long ago it happened, and how the case ended;
- whether keeping it still serves readers, or now mostly causes harm.
We do not remove an article only because it is unflattering. We do remove the name of anyone who was a minor at the time, on request.
What happens next
We read every request and aim to answer within a week. If a request is urgent, for example because someone’s safety is at risk, say so at the start.
