First Baptist Church in Beloit has contributed $1,200 to Family Promise of Greater Beloit, a local organization supporting families experiencing homelessness. The donation was raised through two fundraisers earlier this year and will be used to replace beds at the shelter located at 1006 Bluff Street. The shelter currently accommodates up to nine families at a time.

Anne Bruce, executive director of Family Promise of Greater Beloit, emphasized the significance of the donation. She noted that the funds will help maintain the shelter’s operations, which include providing emergency shelter, rental assistance, and security deposits for families with children under 17 years of age.

The partnership between First Baptist Church and Family Promise of Greater Beloit ensures the shelter can continue its mission without relying solely on grants. Bruce highlighted the importance of community support in sustaining such vital services.

This collaboration reflects a commitment to addressing local needs through practical neighbor-love. The donation aligns with the biblical call to care for the vulnerable, as seen in Matthew 25:35, where Jesus emphasizes the importance of helping those in need.

Family Promise of Greater Beloit serves as a critical resource for families facing homelessness, offering both immediate shelter and long-term support. The church’s contribution underscores the value of community partnerships in meeting these challenges.

The donation also highlights the role of local churches in supporting social services. By engaging in such efforts, churches demonstrate a tangible commitment to mercy and justice, as encouraged in Galatians 6:10.

Through these actions, First Baptist Church and Family Promise of Greater Beloit exemplify the kind of practical outreach that reflects Christ’s love in action. Their work continues to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those in need.
