Nonprofit leader sentenced for stealing $32K from Plain City trafficking survivor charity

Plain City, Ohio – Catherine S. Thompson, the director of the faith-based nonprofit “She Dreams Again,” has been sentenced following her conviction for embezzlement involving funds intended for trafficking survivors. Thompson was found guilty of stealing nearly $32,000 from the organization, which aims to aid women affected by human trafficking in the community.
The theft was discovered during an investigation prompted by financial irregularities reported by the charity’s Board of Directors in September 2024. According to Plain City Police, Thompson embezzled the money through a series of bank transfers and debit card purchases spanning July and August of that year.
