Meanwhile, Brinson faces a misdemeanor charge of prostitution and was released on a $10,000 unsecured bond.
In response to the arrest, the Catholic Diocese of Raleigh announced that Fr. Guerrero-Olvera’s priestly faculties have been immediately revoked. The diocese emphasized that while he is entitled to a presumption of innocence until proven otherwise, the matter is under further investigation by legal and canonical authorities. The diocese has stated that Fr. Guerrero-Olvera will be returned to his religious order during this period.
