Law enforcement agencies, including Indiana State Police, Terre Haute Police Department, and the ICAC unit, executed search warrants at Willis’ residence and his place of employment, a church where he serves as a senior pastor. Vigo County Sheriff Derek Fell provided additional context regarding Willis’ past association with the sheriff’s office. Willis had previously served as a volunteer chaplain under a former administration. Following Sheriff John Plasse’s election in 2018, Willis was dismissed from any official capacity with the agency, a decision made nearly eight years ago.
