Hey brothers and sisters in Christ! ๐ Jason here with Christ Peer-to-Peer. Today, I want to share something a bit tongue-in-cheekโmy favorite part of the Bible. Do you have a favorite scripture, story, or parable?
I've been thinking about this a lot, and here's my quirky take. My favorite part of the Bible is when Jesus left the desert after fasting and being tempted by Satan (Matthew 4:1-11). He resisted all the temptations and emerged ready to begin His ministry. And then, He went to business school, got a four-year MBA, and opened a restaurant with an $80,000 loan from His dad. ๐ He hired the best staff and was very hands-on, never missing church on Sundays. He even volunteered by passing out canned goods to the homeless.
Or maybe you remember when Jesus, after being tempted and suffering in the desert, joined a local church. He started off as a lay minister, worked His way up to deacon, and eventually became the youth pastor. He didnโt get any formal accreditation but did lots of study and was blessed by His church.
And let's not forget when Jesus was down by the lake teaching with His hooker friends and thug buddies. After a long day of preaching, they were in the middle of nowhere with no Taco Bells around. Jesus thanked everyone for coming and reminded them to follow His social media before heading home for the evening. ๐คฃ
Of course, these arenโt real events from the Bible. My point is, sometimes we imagine Jesus fitting into our modern lives, but His actual story is so much more profound.
In reality, my favorite part of the Bible is when Jesus came out of the desert and began His ministry. He chose disciples, healed the sick, cast out demons, and preached the Gospel (Matthew 4:18-25). He lived among the people, loved them, and sacrificed Himself for our sins (John 3:16). This is the Jesus we follow, the one who calls us to live out His teachings in our everyday lives.
So, what's your favorite part of the Bible? Is it a story you remember from Sunday school, a verse that gives you strength, or a parable that challenges you? I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
Remember, the Bible is full of incredible lessons and stories that guide us. Letโs stay rooted in the Scriptures and let them shape our lives.
Love you all. โค๏ธ
