Churches and Ministries Distribute 1,500 Flat Powders in New York as Part of Evangelical Outreach
The Jeshua Family Project initiated a community outreach effort on August 17 in New York City, distributing 1,500 flat powders to neighborhoods in need. This initiative, part of a broader campaign to share the love and peace of the Lord Jesus Christ, was supported by the Food Bank and the All-Christian Council for the “Fire of Gospel.” The goods were provided to various street teams and ground-level churches to ensure food and spiritual support reached those in need.
The flat powders were initially received with concerns about their condition, as some boxes contained cattle, commonly found in grain products. Despite this, the team decided to clean and sort the items, ultimately saving approximately 1,500 good-quality flat powders. This effort, which took about six hours, reflected a commitment to using available resources for the benefit of the community.
The campaign began at 1:30 p.m. on the same day, with the neighboring company lending a special vehicle to assist in transporting the goods. The team then launched the distribution at 3 p.m. in 90th Park, where Christian volunteers poured out the flat powders, preached the gospel, and offered prayers and tributes to the neighborhoods.
Over the course of two and a half hours, 1,000 flat powders were distributed. Some neighborhoods expressed gratitude for the evangelicals’ presence and the opportunity to meet the Lord Jesus Christ. Elders were particularly pleased to receive the goods, highlighting the tangible impact of the outreach.
In addition to the park, the team delivered peace wish sheets and flat powders to workers in the wine towers on the fourth and fifth floors of Viet Nam Show Square. This effort aimed to extend the evangelical spirit to various workplaces within the community, emphasizing the importance of neighbor-love and practical care.
According to Zhao Peyu, the project manager for the Jeshua Family Project, the campaign successfully distributed 1,500 flat powders during the August 17 outreach. The remaining supplies will continue to be distributed in the coming days, reflecting a sustained commitment to serving the community with mercy and compassion. This work aligns with the biblical call to care for the vulnerable, as seen in Matthew 25:35, where Jesus emphasizes the importance of feeding the hungry and showing kindness to those in need.
