Interview With Russell Evans Highlights Empowerment by Holy Spirit at EveryOneAsia 2024 Conference

Russell Evans, founder and senior pastor of Planetshakers Church and Ministries in Australia, recently shared insights about the upcoming EveryOneAsia 2024 conference in Indonesia. The event, part of Empowered21’s global initiative to mobilize churches toward fulfilling the Great Commission by 2033, aims to unite leaders and congregations across continents. Evans, who has churches in Melbourne, Singapore, Cape Town, and Papua New Guinea, emphasized that Planetshakers is affiliated with the Australian Christian Churches, which are linked to the Assemblies of God.

Evans will speak at the conference, focusing on the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. He explained that being spirit-empowered involves living out the presence of Jesus and making a tangible difference in the world by addressing spiritual, physical, and social needs. His message will encourage participants to recognize their role in being witnesses for God, driven by the power of the Holy Spirit and a genuine encounter with God.

Evans highlighted the significance of the conference in fostering a sense of unity among global Christians. He described the event as an opportunity for people to connect with others across the world, breaking down isolation and building relationships. The conference’s goal, he said, is to inspire participants to bring the love of Jesus to everyone they meet while recognizing their place within a powerful, global church.

The Bible says, “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses.” Evans sees this verse as central to the conference’s purpose. He believes that through the power of God and the presence of the Holy Spirit, individuals can become effective witnesses, offering help and love to those around them.

Evans also stressed the importance of relationships in supporting churches, particularly in Asia. He suggested that ongoing connections and collaboration among global Christian communities can provide lasting encouragement and resources. The conference, he said, is a starting point for building these relationships and fostering a shared mission of spreading the message of Jesus.
